Things to Do in the Flathead Valley for Halloween

Halloween in the Flathead Valley hits that perfect mix of spooky, scenic, and small-town charm. Whether you’re chasing scares or keeping it family-friendly, there’s plenty happening around Kalispell and beyond this October. Here are a few local favorites — all within easy driving distance in your Volkswagen.

1. Trunk-or-Treat Halloween Carnival – Kalispell

We’re proud to sponsor this year’s Trunk-or-Treat Halloween Carnival, hosted by the Flathead Valley Sherrif department. It’s a family-friendly community event featuring decorated trunks, candy, games, and a safe space for kids to enjoy Halloween fun. The event will start at 4pm, with trunk or treating going on until 6pm. A carnival will also be happening going from 4pm-9pm.
Date: November 1st, 4pm-9pm
Location: Flathead County Fairgrounds
Details: View event info here.

2. Sweet Pickin’s Pumpkin Patch – Kalispell

A fall staple for locals. Grab a pumpkin, take a tractor ride, or wander the corn maze. It’s a solid day trip for families looking to keep things light on the spooky and heavy on the cozy.
Tip: Go early in the day — weekends get packed.

3. Fritz Corn Maze – Kalispell

If you like your Halloween with a side of adrenaline, Fritz Corn Maze runs both regular and haunted versions. Bring a flashlight and a brave friend if you’re doing the night run.

4. Haunted Hayride at Clydesdale Outpost – Whitefish

The “Werewolves of Whitefish” haunted hayride is a newer tradition that’s already become a favorite. Expect some jump scares, themed entertainment, and great local food vendors.
Note: Not ideal for little kids — this one’s genuinely spooky.
Tickets: Clydesdale Outpost

5. Ghost Tours at the Conrad Mansion – Kalispell

For something with real history behind the haunt, check out the candle-lit ghost tours at the Conrad Mansion. They mix storytelling, local legends, and eerie atmosphere in one of Kalispell’s most iconic spots.

6. Games N Taps Halloween Party – Kalispell

If you’re after an adult night out, Games N Taps hosts a Halloween arcade party every year with costume contests, drinks, and music.

7. Fall Drives and Scenic Stops

Sometimes the best Halloween plan is no plan at all. The Flathead Valley in late October is unbeatable — golden larches, crisp air, and mountain views that make any drive special. Take a trip around Flathead Lake, head toward Whitefish, or just cruise the backroads with a thermos of cider.
