The Redesigned Volkswagen Tiguan
In 2022 Volkswagen gave its beloved Tiguan a stylish new look to look more at home next to its restyled Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport. Here are all the things to expect in your new Tiguan!

Tiguan’s redesigned Interior, Cargo space, and Comfort
The Tiguan interior is still classically Volkswagen, meaning a stylish and sleek look. A standard model comes with cloth seating and partial power controls for the front row seating. Opting into a higher trim model can include full power adjustment for the driver, faux-leather seating, and a panoramic sunroof. Heated seats and digital gauge display are now standard across the lineup. With 12 cubic feet of cargo space behind the optional third row, the new Tiguan is ready to haul your groceries, stroller, or summertime essentials. A new steering wheel with touch-sensitive controls was also introduced. The infotainment system in the Tiguan received a restyle as well. All models come standard with a WIFI hotspot and a 6.0 – 10.3 inch screen display, which now also features Apple CarPlay and Android Audio. A 480-watt nine-speaker Fender audio system is also available, but only in the upper-level trims.

Tiguan’s New Exterior Features
The Tiguan is a handsome and stylish vehicle already, but in 2022 the Tiguan received a little facelift to keep the modern appearance seen across the Volkswagen lineup. At both ends of the vehicle are all new bumpers. The vehicle’s grill was also revised and now also features new LED headlights. New wheels spanning between 17 to 20 inches are also available. To give your Volkswagen an extra flair of personality, two new vehicle colors were introduced to the pallet, Kings Red and Oryx White.
Under the Hood of the 2022 Tiguan
Under the hood of the 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan is a turbocharged four-cylinder that makes 184 horsepower. Front-wheel drive is standard but Volkswagen’s 4Motion all-wheel-drive system is optional. This compact SUV is sporty and fun to drive with a smooth automatic transmission and willing engine.
The Tiguan’s Real-World MPG
One thing Volkswagen did not stray away from is the fuel economy in the 2022 Tiguan. The miles per gallon are most frugal in the base trim models, the S and SE. The S and SE average about 22 mpg city and 29 mpg hwy. The higher trim models, SE R-line Black and SE R-Line, as well as models with the 4Motion all-wheel drive system, vary with an average of 21 mpg city and 28 mpg hwy.
Tiguan’s new Safety and Driver-Assistance
Forward-collision alert with automatic braking and a blind-spot warning system are standard in each trim. Models except for the base S also received a new touch-sensitive climate control panel, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and a semi-autonomous driving mode that Volkswagen calls Travel Assist.
