2022 Flathead Food Bank Backpack Program

Back to school time is just around around the corner. With so many things children have to worry about, their next meal shouldn’t be one of them. At Kalispell Volkswagen we want to help in sending children home happy, not hungry. That is why we partner with the Flathead Valley Food Bank every August to help raise money for their Backpack program.

What is the Backpack Program?

The Backpack program provides food on weekends discreetly in backpacks to children in need throughout the entire school year. the food that is given is non-perishable and easy to prep. Unfortunately 1 in 6 Montana children are food insecure. This program is able to provide nearly 73,000 meals annually for approximately 400 local children!

Currently there are 20 schools that participate in the Backpack program. They are:

• Russell
• Smith Valley
• West Valley

How to Help

For the month of August Kalispell Volkswagen will donate $50.00 for every vehicle that is sold to the Backpack program. Our goal is to reach $20,000. To help us reach this goal our sister stores Kalispell Toyota and Kalispell Ford will be doing the same. Cash donations of any amount are also excepted and will go directly to the program.
