How often should I change my Volkswagen’s oil?

The Volkswagen warranty states you should change your oil within 10,000 miles. Suggested oil change intervals for Volkswagen models is every 7,500 miles. If you own a late model vehicle with high mileage it is recommended to change your oil every 5,000 miles. What time is the Kalispell Volkswagen Service Department open?

The service department at Kalispell Volkswagen is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Although we are closed for some holidays which include: New Years Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

If you can not drop your vehicle off during normal business hours you can use our dropbox. Simply go to the corner of the building next to the Service door. There you will find envelopes and pens. Fill out the envelope and leave your vehicle in the parking lot. One of our Service members will give you a call the next morning to discuss your Service needs.

What does a full Volkswagen Service include?

If you are servicing a Volkswagen or Audi we use OEM filters and oil. For all makes and models including Volkswagen and Audi your vehicle also receives:

• Multi-point inspection
• Tire rotation
• Fluid top off
• Car wash coupon
• Loyalty card (buy 4 oil changes get the 5th one free).

What kind of oil is required for my Volkswagen?

For Volkswagen and Audi models the Mobile 1 full German synthetic oil is required.

Do you have loaner cars for Service customers?

We do have a limited supply of loaner vehicles for Service customers for up to 3 days that are receiving certain warranty repairs as well as extended repairs. However, this depends on the availability of our loaner vehicles. For scheduled maintenance or shorter repair work, we offer a shuttle service that provides drop-off and pick-up for anywhere in Kalispell.

You can also choose to hang out in our comfortable waiting room which offers amenities such as coffee, popcorn, and WiFi. Window shopping our new Volkswagen inventory is another fun way to pass the time while you are waiting for Service.

When should I add BlueDEF?

BlueDEF, also known as Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF), is a solution used in selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems in diesel vehicles to reduce emissions of nitrogen oxide (NOx). It is a mixture of 32.5% high-purity urea and 67.5% deionized water. When injected into the exhaust stream, BlueDEF reacts with the NOx emissions and helps convert them into harmless nitrogen and water vapor.

If you own a Volkswagen vehicle with a diesel engine equipped with an SCR system, you may need to add BlueDEF periodically. The specific intervals for adding BlueDEF can vary depending on your vehicle’s make, model, and usage. Generally, your Volkswagen vehicle’s instrument cluster will display a warning message when the DEF level is low, indicating that it’s time to add BlueDEF.

At Kalispell Volkswagen we check your BlueDEF levels at every oil change and will top it off for you if it is needed.

Do you make replacement VW keys?

If you lost your Volkswagen key or just need an extra one, we can help. Our parts team orders new Volkswagen keys by your VIN number, and then reprograms them to your vehicle. We cannot cut keys onsite.

Do you sell tires?

Yes, tires and alignments can be purchased, installed, and completed by our Volkswagen Certified Technicians. You can shop our tires in the store, online, or give us a call at 406-752-8989.

Do you sell Volkswagen Accessories?

We sell a wide variety of accessories you can add to personalize your Volkswagen. All of our accessories are installed by our Volkswagen Certified Technicians. In addition, our Parts Department offers an assortment of Volkswagen gear. Shop our hats, shirts, water bottles, and much, much more! You can shop our accessories and gear online or in-store.

Do I need an appointment for an oil change or vehicle diagnosis?

It is highly recommended to schedule an appointment for any routine maintenance or repairs but not required. We can take most walk-ins for oil changes if you drop your vehicle off in the morning and leave it for the day.

For a vehicle diagnosis, you can drop your vehicle off anytime and expect to hear back from us between 2-3 business days.

How long does it take to order VW parts?

We carry some parts on hand which are available for pick-up. If we need to order a specific part it will arrive between 5-7 business days. However, there is an overnight delivery option for an additional charge.
